Wi-Fi health widget for your Mac
Check how good your Wi-Fi connection is right now, right from your Mac menu bar. Wishbar turns plain English into widgets like this in minutes, using your own AI.

Wi-Fi health · The health of your Wi-Fi link, read from the Mac itself: link speed, band, signal with a bar, noise and security, without the network’s name.
Made with Wishbar
Have Wishbar on this Mac? This opens it with this widget ready to make. Wishbar asks first, then your AI makes it in a few minutes.
The wish that made it, as typed into Wishbar:
Create a widget that shows my WiFi security, signal strength, and speed.
“A widget like this can be made for you from one sentence, to your taste. Nobody else will have it.”
No card needed. You bring the AI: a free ChatGPT account is enough.
“Wishbar turned a one-sentence request into a working Mac widget in minutes … I've stopped hunting for menu-bar apps; I just wish for them now.”
What it does
- Shows the link speed in Mbps, large, with the band and the interface carrying the connection beside it.
- Shows the signal strength in dBm with a one-word quality, excellent to weak, and a bar; the noise floor under it.
- Shows the security mode with a badge: protected for WPA2 and WPA3, legacy for older WPA, unsafe for an open network.
- Never shows the network’s name. Refreshes every minute while the panel is open; a failed read keeps the last readings, marked stale.
Where the data comes from, and what it needs
The Mac's own Wi-Fi diagnostics. No account, no key. It runs on your Mac and never goes online. Once made, it runs without your AI: it uses no Claude or ChatGPT tokens.
When it is useful
- Working out whether the slow video call is your link or theirs.
- Finding the better corner of the house for the laptop.

Does it show which network I am on?
No, on purpose. It reports link quality only; the network name and nearby networks are never shown.
Does it use the internet?
No. It reads a command on your Mac and shows the result.
What if I am on a cable?
It says there is no Wi-Fi connection.
