Private jets over London widget for your Mac
See the private jets over London right now, and the count for the day, right from your Mac menu bar. Wishbar turns plain English into widgets like this in minutes, using your own AI.

Private jets over London · How many private jets are over London right now and how many have passed today, each one on a small radar with its type, height and heading.
Made with Wishbar
Have Wishbar on this Mac? This opens it with this widget ready to make. Wishbar asks first, then your AI makes it in a few minutes.
The wish that made it, as typed into Wishbar:
Show me how many private jets are flying over London right now, and how many have flown over so far today, counting through the day even when the panel is closed. Use free live flight data that needs no account, such as adsb.lol, and refresh every 2 minutes while I'm looking.

List the ones overhead now with their aircraft type, height and which way they are heading, and draw them as dots on a simple radar circle around central London. Show when it was last updated.
“A widget like this can be made for you from one sentence, to your taste. Nobody else will have it.”
No card needed. You bring the AI: a free ChatGPT account is enough.
“Wishbar turned a one-sentence request into a working Mac widget in minutes … I've stopped hunting for menu-bar apps; I just wish for them now.”
What it does
- Counts the business jets in the air within 23 miles of Charing Cross right now, and draws each one as a dot on a radar circle with a tick for the way it is heading.
- Keeps a tally of the jets seen today, checking every two minutes even while the panel is closed, and says since when it has been counting.
- Lists the ones overhead: the flight or registration, the aircraft type, its height and its heading.
- Refreshes every two minutes while you look, from adsb.lol's free live flight data; after an outage it shows the last good reading and says so.
- Counts purpose-built business jets only, Citations, Gulfstreams, Globals, Falcons and the like; a VIP airliner cannot be told apart from the ordinary kind, so it is left out.
Where the data comes from, and what it needs
adsb.lol. No account, no key. It runs on your Mac and talks to its source only. Once made, it runs without your AI: it uses no Claude or ChatGPT tokens.
When it is useful
- Plane-spotting from a desk: what is coming in to Luton, Farnborough and Biggin Hill today.
- A talking point when the number jumps before a big match, a summit or fashion week.
- A live count for anyone curious about the quiet traffic over the capital.

Questions people ask
Is it only London?
This one is. The wish named London, so the centre is Charing Cross. Ask for your own city and it is made for there.
How does it know a jet is private?
By the aircraft type every plane broadcasts. The widget keeps a list of purpose-built business jets. A VIP airliner looks like any other airliner, so it is not counted.
Does it need an account or a key?
No. adsb.lol is community-run and answers without one.
Does it count while Wishbar is closed?
Yes. A check runs every two minutes in the background, so the day's tally keeps going, and the widget says since when it has been counting.
What if the data stops?
It shows the last good reading with a small stale mark and a button to try again.
